Blow molded plastics are used in a variety of products and industries. The durability of today’s plastic is the smart economic choice for most industries. OMICO Plastics can work with you to create a custom mold for blow molded pet toys and products.
We know that quality, delivery times and safety are all priorities when blow molding pet products. As a 100% employee-owned company, we know that each product we create could end up being in our own home, given to our own pets. Taking pride in our work, we are excited to partner with you so your ideas get into the hands that need them. That includes making products that are safe and reliable.
We will work closely with pet industry designers and manufacturers to create custom blow molds that will fit desired specifications. It’s not about just pushing out a part for us, it’s about creating the best product, with the best materials, based on your innovative ideas.
Blow molding is a manufacturing process that involves forming material—typically plastic—into the desired shape and size by extruding and then expanding it inside of an open mold. The end products feature a hollow, single-piece design. Compared to the injection molding process, blow molding is ideal for pet toy and product manufacturing operations as it eliminates the need for a separate assembly stage to produce hollow products, saving pet toy manufacturers time and money.
At OMICO, we have extensive experience designing and manufacturing blow molded parts and products. Our full-service blow molding solutions ensure your blow molding needs are fully met, regardless of whether you need help designing a new product, designing or improving an existing product, or creating custom molds.
Equipped with over 50 years of blow molding experience and a broad selection of blow molding units, our team has the knowledge, skills, and tools to fulfill virtually any blow molding project.
We offer shot capacities between 0.66 to 25 lbs. and product size capacities ranging from 1 in. to 6 ft. Additionally, we accommodate product designs with plastic welding and press fitting (multi-component assemblies) and foam filling (insulated products) requirements.
In addition to our blow molding capabilities, we also offer the following services:

An experienced pet toy manufacturer understands producing safe dog toys and other pet products requires the use of non-toxic materials. At OMICO, we make it easy for you to choose the right material for your plastic pet products by doing the research for you. Some of the plastics we commonly use include:
This thermoplastic is highly durable, offering a high melting point, relative inertness (to acids, bases, detergents, and water), and resistance to cracking and other stress-related issues. It is ideal for use in pet products as it does not form sharp edges—which can harm a pet if chewed or ingested—when broken. It also does not contain potentially harmful chemicals such as BPA or BHA.
This thermoplastic is available in several variations, including low-density polyethylene (LDPE), high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), all of which are safe and non-toxic in their solid forms.
Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs)
TPEs are strong and durable materials that combine the advantageous properties of rubbers and plastics, making them ideal for use in pet toys. In addition to being non-toxic to pets, they can be molded into a variety of shapes and sizes without losing their strength or reliability.
Upon customer request, we can use other types of materials for pet toy manufacturing operations. For example, we can employ nylon inserts, plastics with specific additives (e.g., anti-fade, heat resistance, fortified, etc.), or filled plastic materials. Regardless of the material requested, we ensure the one we use is pet-safe and color-matched to customer requirements.
The OMICO team is fully committed to ensuring the safety of every pet that uses our pet products. Some of the measures we take to meet this goal include:
When purchasing a toy for your furry friend, safety is paramount. Pet toy manufacturers should keep safety in mind during the design and construction stages, including in regard to design elements and construction material. If you’re looking for safe and non-toxic dog toys or other pet products, the OMICO experts are here to help.
